Effective October 27, 2026
Recipe Rolodex (shown on your Home Screen as “Recipe Box”) is made by Peter Bourlakas. The app does not collect any personal data. Nothing you save is sent to us or to any third party.
Where your recipes are stored
Recipes, photos, meal plans and grocery lists are stored on your device. If you are signed into iCloud, the app syncs them through your own private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) so they appear on your other iPhone and iPad signed into the same Apple ID. That data belongs to your Apple account and is protected by Apple; we cannot see or access it. You can turn sync off at any time in Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
Camera and photos
The camera is used only when you choose to scan a recipe, and only the photos you pick are read. Text recognition happens entirely on your device using Apple’s built-in tools.
Importing from websites
When you import a recipe from a link, the app downloads that page and its photo directly from the website, just like a browser. That website may receive a standard web request from your device. Nothing is sent to us.
Share extension
Items you share to the app from Safari, Messages, Photos or other apps are held briefly in the app’s private storage on your device until the app turns them into recipes.
No tracking, ads, analytics or accounts
The app has no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or third-party SDKs, does not track you across apps or websites, and requires no account.
Children
The app does not collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
Deleting your data
Delete a recipe in the app, or delete the app. To remove synced data from iCloud, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage and delete the app’s data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
